there... is a stylish and eclectic place that pays tribute to Telluride's past without getting hokey.  Low cowskin benches and stools sit next to the front window, a world map is prominently displayed on the back wall, antique bottles line shelves and caged lights lend a warm glow.  In the back, there's even a tall table skewered with aspen trunks.  And with saloon doors, chalkboard walls and vintage tile, the bathroom area has undergone an impressive makeover.

There is great for sharing because there are so many options changing all the time, plus specials, and the small plate format allows you to try several different things.

There are many inventive cocktails on the menu, but it’s the jam drinks that locals come here for. (Yes, jam!) Just pick a jam—Maine blueberry, red pepper jelly, or pumpkin—and then pick your spirit—vodka, gin, rum, tequila, or rye. The red-pepper jelly and tequila combo is a good bet.

But the pop-up like There, by the Beverage Director of Nobu 57, pulls it off, in no small part because of the two charismatic bartenders who are the small room's workhorses, entertainers, and maitre d's.  There may be better food in town, but there's no place you'd rather be.

As we slurped up the last spoonfuls, I couldn't resist picking up the comedy routine again by asking when we'd come back to there...  This time, my husband knew exactly what I was talking about and agreed that it would be soon.

there, an inventive Asian tapas and cocktail joint, takes a more modern approach: The main menu choices are as simple as they come- tostadas, steamed buns, lettuce wraps, and more- but the presentation and content variety create a more complex flavor.  The eclectic setting pairs iron saddle bar seats, pressed tin ceilings, and decorative cartography with a drinks menu devoted largely to sweet jam cocktails.
